Electrothermography using thermal imaging cameras
By VdS in the guideline VdS 2859 requirements for electrical thermography cameras and their use by the experts for Electrothermography have been defined:

  •  Operating temperature range: -10 to +40 ° C
  •  Measuring range: – 20 to +500 ° C
  •  Accuracy / measurement: + / + 2% and 2 K
  •  Wavelengths: 7.5 microns – 13 microns
  •  Spatial resolution: <2,5 mrad
  •  Resolution: min. QVGA
  •  Refresh rate:> 20 Hz
  •  Opportunities for input: emissivity, reflected ambient
  •  Measurement functions: Spot, Auto Hot Spot, isotherm
  •  Reading management: radiometric IR images freeze and store
  •  Calibration: 1 x per year
  •  Handling: hand-held remote display
  •  Lenses: normal, and telephoto lens

By a hand-held camera and an external display safe and efficient work in the electrical installations are guaranteed. Not directly visible parts of the plant can be assessed safely through the optional auxiliary display to be used. The refresh rate of greater than 20 Hz ensures a “liquid” infrared image in the viewfinder or display, which then has no “ghosting”.

EBS ATUS GMBH – NEC INFRARED SYSTEMS uses the electric hand-held infrared thermography several cameras that meet all requirements of the VdS.

Special influence on the measurement accuracy, the geometrical resolution of the camera-lens combination.
